Replace Roll Animations With Quickstep (Updated with Bloodborne and Sekiro Dash Versions)

A simple animation swap that switches the rolling animation for the quickstep animation, for those who prefer the look of Bloodborne and Sekiro style dash dodges over rolling. Updated to include alternate versions with animations imported from Bloodborne and Sekiro.

This is just a simple animation swap that replaces the rolling animation for all weights (light / medium / heavy) with the quickstep animation. This is purely a cosmetic change for those who like the look of quickstepping over rolling, this is NOT a gameplay change; all properties of the respective rolls including duration, distance, and i-frames are left untouched, i.e. this does not actually change rolling into quickstepping but rather just alters the animation. The quickstep ash of war still retains its special properties and remains unique and distinct from the normal dodge. This mod does not alter the dodge animation from a crouch or from the downed state. Both remain a rolling style animation.

Updated to include Bloodborne and Sekiro versions that use the animations from those games respectively. Like the main version, these are animation swaps only and do NOT affect gameplay unlike other similar mods. There is a minor visual issue with the Bloodborne version where the left and right hand equipment rotates strangely at the end of left and right dashes while locked on. I’m going to look into editing the animations to see if I can fix that in the future but it’s already been a few months since I promised to release Bloodborne and Sekiro versions so I’m putting it out now. The Sekiro version has no issues as far as I know besides some minor clipping with some equipment combinations.

Installation:
Recommended:

Download Mod Engine 2 and in the mod folder create a folder named chr if it does not exist, and place the c0000_a00_hi.anibnd.dcx file inside of it. Then simply run launchmod_eldenring from the mod engine folder and you should be good to go. Mod Engine 2 automatically runs in offline mode with the anti-cheat disabled so there are no other steps necessary.

Alternate (Not recommended):
Unpack the game files using UXM and replace the existing c0000_a00_hi.anibnd.dcx file with this one. Remember to disable the anti-cheat and to patch the exe with UXM to load loose files. Any other mods that edit c0000_a00_hi.anibnd.dcx will be incompatible, everything else should have no conflicts.

Compatibility:
Should be compatible with all mods that do not edit c0000_a00_hi.anibnd.dcx. Let me know of any compatibility issues.

Note about online play:
Since I sometimes see people asking, due to Easy Anticheat you currently cannot play on From Software servers with modded game files. If you use Mod Engine 2 it won’t even let you attempt to go online as a safety precaution. If you want to play with friends with mods look into Seamless Co-op.
