(Are you a modder creating UI mods? Check out Gideon – UI texture deployer for mods to make UI mods which are compatible with other mods, just like this one!)

Have you ever tried to run a cool ELDEN RING mod like ELDEN RING Reforged, only to realize that you cannot use your favorite controller scheme because it would conflict with the mod’s files? Are you tired of downloading a new version for each ELDEN RING update, or waiting for updates?

This page is about to solve those troubles for good.

Featured within are installers for the following mods…
PS5 Controller UI for ELDEN RING by losh11
PS4 Controller UI for ELDEN RING by losh11
Nintendo Switch (SNES) Style Controller Button Prompts by ZeusOfTheCrows

(Thank these creators, and visit their pages if you want to run this without other mods!)

…which apply only the necessary changes directly to a mod’s archive files, while leaving the other files in the mod alone.

Essentially, this will allow you to apply the Controller UIs on top of the mod you’re running, without causing conflicts or issues.

As a bonus, this method is also safe from game updates for the foreseeable future.

If you decide to run the installer in an empty folder without an existing mod, it will also generate a stand-alone mod which can normally be used with Mod Engine 2 or Metis Mod Launcher!

How to install
This guide requires that you already know how mod installation works, in general. If not, please seek information or tutorials with the mod you’re trying to install these UI prompts to.
The installer requires the .NET 6 Desktop Runtime (Specifically “Desktop Runtime”, not just “Runtime”), please download and install it first.
1.
Download your chosen UI package and unpack its contents directly into the folder of the mod you’re trying to apply the UI to.
This is the folder which contains the regulation.bin file and/or folders such as chr/ or menu/.
This is safe and will not overwrite any content of the mod!

2.
Then, simply launch the extracted shortcut (starting with “Setup UI Images”).
If everything works well, the installer (called Gideon) will take care of the rest for you!
If everything does not work well, carefully read the text that appears on screen, then let me know in the comments.

How did you do that?
This mod is powered by Gideon, my tool for UI modders. It is mainly intended as a showcase of what Gideon can do.

If you’re a modder who creates UI mods, check Gideon out and use it for your own mods! It is a big step towards more compatibility between mods.
