Performance Boost For Potato PC. (Plus guides and more)

Options to disable Grass, Shadows, Weather Effects, Wet Effect and more. With .csv files to edit or merge with another mod.

Do not use this in online mode!

  1. Make a backup of your save.
  2. Make a backup of your regulation.bin file located in your game’s folder: D:\…\ELDEN RING\Game\
  3. Put the edited regulation file in your game’s folder.
  4. Launch the game in offline mode with EAC disabled.
Details on how to launch the game without EAC:
    Elden Ring – PCGamingWiki
    Anti-cheat toggler and offline launcher
    Offline launcher (No EAC)
  5. Enjoy.

Notes:

The latest version of the mod was made with DSMapStudio. Used “,” as Delimiter.

If your game is already modded and you want to merge the mod with your existing regulation.bin file follow this video tutorial How to merge regulation bins using DSMapStudio. You don’t need to unpack your game with UXM tho. Also make sure to use “,” as a delimiter when importing my csv file.

Changelog for v7:
Fixed some trash edits cause I’ve figured some things out. If you wanna know more about it: True Invisible Enemies and NPCs Bug Fix. Merged with True Invisible Enemies and NPCs Bug Fix.

Changelog for v8:
Fixed some trash edits cause vawser updated Yapped and it was easier to figure some things out.

Changelog for v8.1:
No longer merged with Invisible Enemies Fix cause it is no longer needed. Fromsoft fixed it and changing that number to a higher value degrades performance.

Changelog for v8.2:
Remade with DSMapStudio because Yapped is outdated and is causing a lot of issues.

Optional steps to somewhat improve performance even more:

You can disable VolumetricEffectsQuality, EffectsQuality and RaytracingQuality by following these steps:

  1. Go to C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing. Here’s where you can find your save and a file named GraphicsConfig.xml.
  2. Open GraphicsConfig.xml with Notepad.
  3. Copy and paste the text below. Don’t forget to change the resolution to whatever you need cause if you change it in-game your graphics settings will reset.

*No idea if setting EffectsQuality and RaytracingQuality to DISABLE actually does anything. Set the file to read only because the game is resetting AntiAliasing to high every time it’s launched.

Optional steps to improve your experience:

Check out TechieW’s mods. You can disable Vignette and Chromatic Abberation and remove the black borders without using Flawless Widescreen:

Specs:
3200g Radeon 8
Crucial Ballistix 16 GBs 3200Mhz

Check out the rest of my mods:
Twin Maiden Husks’ Magic Shop

Unlocked Ashes of War and Enchantments

Unlocked Spirit Ashes

OUTDATED INFO BUT SOMEWHAT STILL USEFUL
Optional .csv files if you want to edit this mod or merge it with another mod that uses regulation.bin. They all have the custom names I’ve put.

  1. Download Yapped-Rune-Bear.
  2. Go to File and pick Elden Ring from the top down menu. (Should have Dark souls picked as default?)
  3. Go to Settings-> Data Export-> CSV Delimiter in Yapped and make sure Yapped is using “;” and not “,” as a delimiter (without “”).
  4. Download your favorite mod.
  5. Download this mod’s .csv files.
  6. Put the .csv files in D:\…\Yapped-Rune-Bear-main\res\GR\Data.
  7. Launch Yapped and open your mod’s regulation.bin using File->Open.
  8. Go to GrassLodRangeParam (Left Panel). Click on it. Import my csv’s data by using Tools->Import Data.
  9. Go to LoadBalancerNewDrawDistScaleParam_win64 and repeat.
  10. Go to WeatherParam and repeat.
  11. Go to WetAspectParam and repeat.
  12. If you are getting errors while trying to import my .csv files, open my mod’s regulation.bin, go to whatever I’ve edited/you need on the left panel and do Tools->Export Data. Do this for whatever else you need/I’ve edited. Then follow steps 4,7,8,9,10,11.
  13. Save by using File->Save.
  14. Enjoy

Only import the Data that you need. For example, if you want to add the disable grass mod to another mod then all you need to do is import the GrassLodRangeParam data.

GrassLodRangeParam:

This affects grass LODs. You can change their values to something lower from defaults if you still want to have grass. I did -1 to everything in order to disable it.

LoadBalancerNewDrawDistScaleParam_win64:

This affects LODs of many things. Got names imported in both the .bin files and .csv files. Got an optional txt file with them as well.

Draw Distance – Scale Start:

Primary LOD the game uses for stuff. Left on default cause some things are bunched together, like the Big Trees row is affecting big trees as well as some world objects. You can put -1 to disable whatever you want. Can use 0 as well to make things somewhat render only when you are really really close.

Draw Distance – Scale End:

Secondary LOD the game uses for stuff when under stress or when the player is far away. You can lower default values if your game is struggling. I’ve left them on default cause some things are bunched together, like the Big Trees row is affecting big trees as well as some world objects. Lowest value you can use is 0. -1 makes it completely invisible.
*Only thing I’ve change is for Row 11 from 0 to 0.8 (more info here True Invisible Enemies and NPCs Bug Fix)

Shadow Draw Distance – Scale Start

Primary LOD for shadows. I’ve done -1 to disable them.

Shadow Draw Distance – Scale End

Secondary LOD for shadows. I’ve done -1 to disable them.

WeatherParam:

Affects weather.

Weather SFX ID:

Should affect rain. Changed to -1.

Wind SFX ID:

Should affect wind. Changed to -1.

Ground Hit SFX ID:

Should affect rain splashes. Changed to -1.

GPARAM ID:

Affects fog. Changed to 0, but you can keep on default if you still want fog.

Weather SFX – Indoors Only – SFX ID:

Changed to -1.

Weather SFX – Outdoors Only – SFX ID:

Changed to -1.

WetAspectParam:

Should affect wet effect.

Did 0 to everything for everything.
