Consecrated Snowfield Mods – No Heavy Fog – Flickering Fog Bugfix – Extreme Blizzard

Dispels the heavy fog in the first stretch of Consecrated Snowfield, while still mantaining the snow, wind and background fog found in the rest of the region.
Includes two optional mods: one keeps the heavy fog but fixes a common bug that makes the mist flicker for some players, the other adds an extreme blizzard.

Dispels the heavy fog in the first stretch of Consecrated Snowfield, while still preserving the snow, wind and background fog found in the rest of the region. I could remove the light/background fog from the entire zone as well, but this makes the skybox look ugly and glitchy, especially the sun (which turns into a huge white sphere). As such I have not included a version that removes it all, but I can upload it under request.

NEW: added a new mod that introduces an extreme blizzard to the Snowfield. Note that this is very intense and will considerably reduce your visibility (much more than the base game’s blizzard does) and even reduce your performance depending on the power of your PC. Use with caution.

Includes an optional file that keeps the heavy fog but fixes a common bug that makes the fog flicker for some players, both in Snowfield and during Borealis the Freezing Fog’s boss fight.

INSTALLATION:
Install ModEngine2 and drop the regulation.bin file of your choice in your ModEngine2\mod\ folder. Launch the game using ModEngine2’s launchmod_eldenring.bat file.

CHANGES:
In regulation.bin:
– BUGFIX:
WeatherParam -> 81 -> Weather SFX ID changed to 806121 (applied to all the other mods too)

– NO HEAVY FOG:
WeatherParam -> 81 -> GParam ID changed to 40

– EXTREME BLIZZARD:
WeatherParam -> 81 -> Wet SpEffect [0] changed to 4213;
SpEffectParam -> 4213 -> Duration changed from -1 to 0.1 (this shouldn’t affect anything else in the game, but if it does let me know)

I have also changed the Wind SFX ID to 808007 in all of them but this is entirely optional and simply increases the strength of the wind.
Compatible with my Fogless Altus Forest mod, but you have to manually merge them.
