New Starting Classes – Powerful and Lore Friendly

This mod was inspired by wanting to do Crucible Knight Build. But rather than doing a NG+, I thought I’d add it as a starting class. Then I thought, why not just add all the builds I want to play as starting classes? So I did. I don’t think any of them are OP, as I focused to keep them more lore-friendly than meta. To wield most of the equipment though the stats needed to be much higher than starting, so doing a New Game with one of these, you’ll probably melt early bosses and mobs easily. I did edit their starting Rune Level as well though, so levelling is consistent with the vanilla game.

I did try to amend the ‘background photos’ but they turned out looking trash. I may do so in the future if I get some time, but for now the default ones are stuck there.

So the new classes are:
Crucible Knight – Ordovis and Siluria
(When I first started the game these guys used to wreck me, so I thought it would be fun to cosplay as one and be the one doing the wrecking.)
Siluria armor is available for purchase from the Twin Maide Husks (can’t give more than 1 starting armor)

Armor – Axe & Tree (wt = 36.9)
Seal – Finger Seal (wt = 1.5)
Incant – Breath; Horns; Tail
Weapon – Ordovis’s Greatsword (wt = 12) & Siluria’s Tree (wt = 10)

Godskin – Noble and Apostle
(Another very strong character that used to kick my ass. Time to put their skills to my own benefit.)
Apostle armor is available for purchase from the Twin Maide Husks

Armor – Noble & Apostle (wt = 12.2; wt = 10.9)

Installation
Just drop the regulation.bin and ‘msg’ folder into your ‘Mod Engine 2’ mod folder and you’re good to go.

If you know how, you should be able to merge regulation.bin with any other mods you like to use. Most changes are to the ‘CharaInitParam’ which should be compatible with everything else (other than another starting class mod).

Very minor changes made to ShopLineupParam to be able to purchase Crucible and Godskin armor from the Twin Maiden Husks.

Two minor changes in EquipParamWeapon for the ‘Merchant’ starting class to have a Cane Sword with Flame Art to start, and the Pillory Shield to have Parry Ash of War for the Curse Bearer Class. You can obtain all of these changes through normal vanilla gameplay, so it should have minimal interference with any other mods (other than the new items in the shop).

If you have any suggestion on improvements to this mod, or anything for the future drop a comment. I’m always happy to receive feedback.
